Weed and Feed
Properly feeding and weeding your lawn will allow it to grow and flourish to its full potential. At the same time it will keep your property looking clean and beautiful. We will assess your existing turf, and recommend a course of action that best suits your needs.
Fertilization
Most Hudson Valley soils do not have all the nutrients or enough of the nutrients plants need to survive and thrive. Dark soil color does not always indicate nutrient-rich soil. Nutrients in soil can be depleted by weeds, other plants, prior plantings or man-made damage.
Plant fertilizers, both organic and traditional, are made to replace and supplement nutrients. Fertilizers typically contain the three main nutrients plants need to grow: nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. Most also contain additional nutrients such as calcium, sulfur and magnesium.
The proper combination, quantity and timing of soil amendments, bio-stimulants and beneficial fungi and humic acid produce strong and healthy lawns.
Soil Testing
The first step in fertilizing your lawn is to obtain a soil test before applying any nutrients. A simple soil test provides key information including soil pH, potassium and phosphorus levels. Integral technicians will test your soil and then design a maintence program tailored to your budget, lifestyle and lawn goals.
Grub Control
Grubs are the C-shaped larval stage of certain beetles that feed on the root system of your lawn, leaving tremendous damage. The grubs are the immature offspring of Japanese beetles, June beetles, Asiatic beetles and rose chafers.
Control of Grubs and Japanese Beetles is two-pronged. Application of products to the soil June through August addresses the control of the grubs as the adult beetles emerge, mate and lay eggs. Direct application of either organic or traditional products controls the flying beetles in June and July. Integral has been successful controlling Japanese Beetles on a wonderful raspberry patch using organic methods.
The professionals at Integral will properly and efficiently control these insects from damaging your beautiful lawn, shrubs and fruit plants.
Aeration and Seeding
Core aeration is second only to lawn fertilizing for building a healthy, thick lawn. Core aeration reduces thatch in your lawn while it opens the way for air, water and fertilizer to reach the root zone of the turf. Lawn aeration is the secret to getting the most out of your other lawn care services.
Spot seeding is a quick and easy way to repair things like ruts along driveways, areas worn by foot traffic, and small areas that have died for any reason.
Overseeding a lawn broadcasts the seed over a large area. This works well when the lawn just needs a general "thickening up." Overseeding can be done along with lawn aeration or by itself, but doesn't work too well when there's a heavy thatch layer.
Lawn renovation is for lawns that have excessive thatch or are so thin that only the addition of soil and seed will produce a successful lawn.
